Accessibility Services. From strategy to delivery - we build, secure, and scale data platforms where compliance is not an afterthought.
Building websites everyone can use
One in five people in the UK has a disability. If your website is not accessible, you are locking out a significant portion of the people you serve. For public sector organisations, this is not just a moral issue. It is a legal one.
The Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 require all public sector websites to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Falling short puts you at risk of complaints, legal challenge, and most importantly, citizens who simply cannot access your services.
We help you get this right. Not as an afterthought, but from the very first sketch of your website.
Our approach: built in, not bolted on
Most accessibility problems are expensive to fix because they are found too late. A colour contrast issue spotted after launch means redesigning templates. A navigation problem found in a post-launch audit means reworking code that took months to build.
We take a different approach. Accessibility is embedded into every stage of our process, from wireframes through to development and testing. By catching issues early, our clients have seen remediation costs drop significantly compared to projects where accessibility was tested only at the end.
This is what that looks like in practice:
| Project stage | What we do for you |
|---|---|
| Discovery and design | We validate colour contrast, heading structures, keyboard navigation patterns, and touch target sizes during wireframing. Problems are fixed in minutes, not weeks. |
| Development | Our developers build with semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and screen reader compatibility from the start. Every sprint includes accessibility checkpoints. |
| Testing | We run a combination of automated scans, manual expert testing, assistive technology testing, and real-world testing with users who have disabilities. |
| Launch and beyond | We provide ongoing monitoring, regular audits, and training so your team can maintain compliance independently. |
The result is a website that works for everyone on launch day, not one that needs months of remediation afterwards.
How we test accessibility
Automated tools are useful, but they only catch around 30 to 40 percent of accessibility issues. The rest require human judgement.
Our testing combines four layers, each building on the last:
Automated scanning identifies technical violations across your site quickly and efficiently. We use multiple industry-standard tools rather than relying on a single scanner, so coverage is thorough.
Manual expert testing is where our IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals) certified specialists step in. They assess the areas automated tools miss: keyboard navigation flow, screen reader compatibility, logical reading order, cognitive accessibility, and the usability of dynamic content like dropdown menus, search filters, and forms.
Assistive technology testing simulates how real people with disabilities experience your site. We test with screen readers (including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver), speech recognition software, screen magnifiers, and keyboard-only navigation across multiple browsers and devices.
Real-world user testing brings in people with a range of disabilities, including visual impairments, motor disabilities, cognitive differences, and hearing loss. They complete realistic tasks on your website and share their experience. This is the only way to truly validate that technical compliance translates into genuine usability.
What you get from an accessibility audit
Whether you need a full audit of your existing website or ongoing compliance monitoring, our reports give you a clear picture of where you stand and exactly what to do next.
Every audit includes:
- A prioritised list of issues ranked by severity, so you know what to fix first
- Clear explanations of each problem, referenced to the relevant WCAG standard
- Specific corrective actions your developers can follow, complete with code samples and screenshots
- An accessibility impact map showing how issues affect different user groups
- An updated accessibility statement draft, keeping you compliant with legal requirements
- Benchmarking against industry standards, so you can see how your site compares
We deliver findings in formats your team can act on immediately, including detailed reports and structured spreadsheets with reproducibility instructions for every issue.
Our accessibility services
We offer accessibility support across the full lifecycle of your digital products.
Accessibility auditing. Comprehensive WCAG 2.2 AA audits of websites, web applications, PDFs, Office documents, and videos. Covering automated testing, manual expert review, assistive technology testing, and real-user testing where needed.
Remediation. We do not just identify problems. We fix them. Our team works through your audit findings systematically, resolving violations and validating the fixes with re-testing.
Accessibility-led design and build. For new website projects, we embed accessibility from day one. This means accessible wireframes, compliant design systems, and clean code that works with assistive technologies out of the box.
Ongoing monitoring. Regular automated and manual scans to catch issues before your users do. We monitor for regressions after content updates, third-party integrations, and browser or assistive technology changes.
Training and knowledge transfer. We train your content editors, designers, and developers in accessibility best practice. Our Train the Trainer programmes build internal champions who can maintain standards independently, reducing your reliance on external consultants over time.
Consultancy. From design reviews and code reviews to early-stage project planning, we provide practical advice that prevents costly mistakes.
Why organisations choose us
We specialise in public sector digital services, where accessibility is not optional. Every CMS website we have built meets WCAG 2.2 AA, and we have delivered accessibility audits and remediations for organisations across UK government, the NHS, local authorities, and international public bodies.
A few things set our approach apart:
- Certified specialists. Our accessibility auditors hold IAAP certification, the international gold standard for web accessibility professionals.
- Prevention over correction. Embedding accessibility from design reduces remediation costs by up to 82% compared to testing only after launch.
- Real users, real insights. We go beyond compliance checklists by testing with people who rely on assistive technologies every day.
- Practical reporting. Our audit reports are built for action, not shelving. Every issue comes with a clear fix and priority level.
- Knowledge transfer. We build your team’s capability so you are not dependent on us forever.
We have worked with organisations managing everything from 10-page brochure sites to 100+ page web applications with complex interactive features, and achieved zero critical accessibility issues at launch across recent projects.
Accessibility is good for everyone
Accessible websites are not just for people with disabilities. Clear navigation helps everyone find what they need. Good colour contrast is easier to read in bright sunlight. Keyboard navigation benefits anyone with a temporary injury. Fast-loading pages help users on slow connections.
When you invest in accessibility, you improve the experience for all your users, reduce support queries, and demonstrate your commitment to inclusive public services.
